Omaha Public Schools partnered with Sheppard’s Business Interiors and i.e. design on a districtwide initiative spanning five schools — two elementary schools, one middle school, and two high schools. To help OPS envision the future of their learning environments, SBI hosted education, instruction, and facilities leaders in our showroom for an in‑depth exploration of active learning concepts, flexible classroom design, and current research on student‑centered spaces. This collaboration provided the district with the insights and tools needed to make informed decisions as they established new furniture standards.
SBI delivered comprehensive solutions across a wide range of spaces, including classrooms, administrative offices, maker spaces, science and art rooms, music rooms, libraries, learning commons, and collaboration areas. The furniture selected supports movement, adaptability, and student engagement while giving educators the flexibility to teach in multiple styles. The result is a cohesive, future‑ready learning environment that elevates both teaching and learning across all five OPS schools.
